WhatsApp voice, today
Trengo’s WhatsApp voice calling request is marked planned on its roadmap. Dialaunch answers WhatsApp calls now.
Trengo and Dialaunch both help teams answer customers on WhatsApp. Trengo is a customer engagement platform with a shared inbox for WhatsApp, email and other channels, plus Trengo Voice for phone calls. Dialaunch is an AI agent for WhatsApp calls with your team in control: customers call your WhatsApp Business number, and one number takes many calls at once, answered by the AI agent, routed to the next free agent, queued with hold music, or handled by the step you designed.

The AI agent confirms orders, books appointments, checks deliveries and creates callbacks, then hands over when a person is needed.
Like Trengo Voice, Dialaunch rings SIP desk phones and softphones, and it also rings your agents’ own WhatsApp.
Trengo brings WhatsApp, email, chat and social messages into one inbox for support and sales teams, with automation and AI agents for messages. Trengo Voice lets teams make and receive phone calls inside Trengo with a local or migrated phone number, answered in the platform, a SIP softphone or a SIP desk phone. Trengo’s changelog also mentions sending WhatsApp templates after missed phone calls.
Dialaunch is for businesses whose customers call them on WhatsApp. On one WhatsApp phone you take one call at a time; the next caller hits a busy line. Dialaunch turns that number into a contact centre with an AI agent that sounds like a person, in HD voice with no lag.
Trengo’s public roadmap has a request titled “Enable WhatsApp voice calling in Trengo”, marked planned, describing customers unable to call a business’s connected WhatsApp number. At the time of writing (October 2026), we did not find documentation that WhatsApp voice calling has shipped in Trengo; check with them, as products change.
Dialaunch answers those calls. Each one goes through your flow: the AI agent, a keypad menu, a queue with hold music, opening hours with holidays and time zones, voicemail and fallbacks. Your team can listen live, whisper, take over in one click and hand the call back to the AI.
Both handle customer conversations. They differ on which calls they answer.
If your team lives in a shared inbox for email and messaging, needs a phone number provided or migrated, and WhatsApp is a chat channel for you, Trengo is a good all-in-one choice. Its messaging automation and integrations are broad.
Dialaunch fits when customers call you on WhatsApp and those calls ring out or hit a busy line. It takes many at once, resolves the routine ones with the AI agent, and passes the rest to your team on the phone they already use.
Many teams can keep Trengo for email and chats, and connect the WhatsApp number customers call to Dialaunch.
Once a WhatsApp number is connected to Dialaunch, it stops working in the WhatsApp Business app on that number, and the app’s chat history does not move over. Setup takes about 15 minutes with a guided flow; Meta’s approval of the number can take 1 to 3 days.
At the time of writing (October 2026), Trengo’s roadmap lists WhatsApp voice calling as a planned request, and we did not find documentation that it has shipped. Trengo Voice handles phone calls. Check with Trengo for the latest.
Dialaunch is built for WhatsApp voice calls: an AI agent answers, many calls are taken at once on one number, and your team supervises and takes over when needed.
